Spencer, IA (KICD)--Early results from the recently launched Quality Housing initiative in Spencer are positive.

City Manager Bob Fagen tells KICD News the first round of funding was approved this week.



Under this plan the city will provide $10,000, Clay County $2,500, and some area banks another $2,500 to contribute a total of $15,000 for new home builds in the $110,000-$180,000 price range.  Funding was approved for a total of 40 homes with 32 grants still available.
