Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) -- With the many visitors the Iowa Great Lakes area sees every year, a rather unique visitor made an appearance Tuesday night.

Steve Reighard is an officer with the Iowa DNR. He shares news of the special visitor...



Reighard says bobcats are very rare around the area, and that it has been many years since the last one was verified in this area. He tells that bobcats while wild, are not aggressive toward humans...



He goes on to describe the size of the spotted creature, and tells of what they like to hunt...



Reighard says that there is no open hunting season in the area, but there is a hunting season for southern into parts of western Iowa.
