Terry L. Bruns, president and CEO of Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative has announced his retirement as of September 30, 2012. Hussong tells how long Bruns has been with ILEC...



Bruns began as the Cooperative's director of finance and office services and was appointed by the board of directors to the position of president and CEO in July 1995.
Bruns has led the Cooperative for 16 years, during which time its kilowatt-hour sales grew 162 percent. Hussong tells of one of the many projects the Cooperative has accomplished with Bruns at the helm...




Bruns also oversaw a multitude of construction projects to the cooperative's own facilities, including its new headquarter facility in Estherville in 2002, the new service center in Emmetsburg in 2008, and the expansion of two service centers, Spencer's in 2006 and Estherville's in 2012..
Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative serves over 12,000 member-owner accounts locally in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, Palo Alto, and Pocahontas counties.
