Windom, MN (KICD)--A Fostoria woman is taken to the hospital following a Monday afternoon motorcycle mishap.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 46-year-old Mary Smith was heading west on Highway 60 in Cottonwood County on a 2003 Honda along with four other motorcycle riders shortly before 1:30. The other bikes stopped suddenly and Smith laid down her bike to avoid a collision.
Smith was taken to the Windom Hospital with minor injuries. She was not wearing a helmet.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A wanted sex predator is apprehended by Storm Lake Police Sunday evening.
While investigating a separate matter 47-year-old Marvin Johnson of Storm Lake arrived on scene. He was charged with OWI. Police further determined that Johnson was wanted out of Hennepin County, MN on the charge of Failure to Register as a Sexual Predator.
Johnson was booked into county jail on a $26,000 cash bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police are called to report of a man threatening to kill someone Sunday morning.
Once on scene officers breached the door and entered the residence fearing that a crime was in progress inside of the apartment. Once inside 40-year-old Mark Cham allegedly became combative with police at which time he was subdued after a brief struggle.
The victim told Police that he and Cham got into an argument and when he went to leave Cham allegedly followed him outside and threatened to kill him.
Following an investigation police charged Cham with Harassment 1st Degree, Interference With Official Acts and Disorderly Conduct. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,600 cash bond.
No injuries were reported.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Two face charges following an early Saturday morning scuffle.
Storm Lake Police allege 52-year-old Kenneth Jones of Storm Lake got angry with 54-year-old Andrew Seward of Storm Lake and assaulted him. Seward received minor injuries to his face but declined medical attention.
Jones was subsequently arrested for Assault Causing Injury and OWI. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.
Seward lied to Police and also drove a vehicle while intoxicated and was charged with OWI 3rd Offense, Reckless Driving and Interference With Official Acts. He was booked into the county jail on a $5,600 cash bond.
