Spencer, IA (KICD)--A late Friday evening Clay County mishap lands three in the Spencer Hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 26-year-old Kelly Peterson of Bettendorf was heading east on B-24 at 11:08 in a 2007 Toyota Scion. At this time 46-year-old Julie Vaniperen of Lake Park was heading north on M-50 in a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Peterson failed to stop for the stop sign and struck Vaniperen in the intersection.
Both drivers along with 22-year-old Hannah McMeen of Omaha were taken to Spencer Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff and Spencer Police assisted on scene of the accident which remains under investigation.
Larchwood, IA (KICD)--Multiple felony counts are filed by the Lyon County Sheriff following a multi state pursuit.
Deputies received a request Friday morning from the Minnehaha County Sheriff's Office for assistance in the pursuit of 34-year-old Tyson Wessels of Chancellor, South Dakota. Wessels attempted to steal an ATM from a convenience store in Valley Springs, South Dakota early Friday morning.
With the help of GPS the Lyon County Sheriff's Office located the pickup parked on Birch Ave near 220th St. When a Deputy approached the pickup Wessels backed into his patrol car.
Wessels faces Lyon County charges of Eluding, Possession of Stolen Property,Assault on a Peace Officer, and Assault While Participating in a Felony. All four charges are Class D Felonies.
