Spencer, IA (KICD)--New rules from the FCC could hamper efforts of rural broadband providers.

Joe Hrdlicka, Director of Government Relations for the Iowa Telecommunications Association, shares their concerns with KICD News.



Hrdlicka says the funding formula for the Connect America fund leaves rural communications providers without a firm footing on revenue projections.



Ryan Boone, who serves as regulatory manager of Premier Communications out of Sioux Center, says infrastructure improvements will be needed soon.



Hrdlicka says they are asking for the implementation of the new rules to slow down a bit.



Predictibility of future funding is the key issue at hand.
