Granville Truck Wreck



Granville, IA (KICD) -- A Sibley man is injured when the semi he was driving rolled while trying to avoid a deer.

   Around 11:15 Thursday evening, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident
that occurred on 490th Street, three miles south of Granville.
19-year old Austin Steffen was driving a 2005 Sterling LT9500 straight truck loaded with silage
westbound on 490th street, when he swerved for a deer on the roadway. Steffen lost control of the truck,
entered the north ditch where it rolled onto its side.

   Steffen was transported to the Orange City Hospital by Granville Ambulance for treatment of minor
injuries.

The truck. owned by Franken Custom Incorporated, of Sioux Center, sustained approximately $80,000 in
damages.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by the Granville Fire Department.
