Royal, IA (KICD)--A Monday morning mishap at the intersection of Clay County Road M-27 and 380th Street leads to injuries for a Sanborn man.
Clay County Deputies were called on scene shortly after 9:00 a.m. and found that 63-year-old WIlliam Stofferan lost control of his southbound 1999 Mack semi and 2002 Walinga trailer. Stofferan entered the east ditch and crossed over 280th Street where his semi and trailer came to rest on its side.
Stofferan was taken to Spencer Hospital with minor lacerations and bruises and released. He was cited for failure to maintain control.
Agencies assisting include Everly and Royal Fire and Rescue, the Iowa DOT, and Spencer EMT's.
Royal, IA (KICD)--A Spencer man faces drug, alcohol, and driving charges.
A Clay County Deputy pulled over 18-year-old Nicholas Dischler last Tuesday and found an open container. After going through field sobriety tests and finding drug paraphernalia in the vehicle Dischler was arrested. Upon conducting a patdown, drug paraphernalia containing marijuana was located.
Dischler was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, Underage Alcohol Possession and Careless Driving. Dischler's license was also revoked for a second offense .02 violation.
Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--A Spirit Lake woman is jailed following an apartment search Monday afternoon.
Spirit Lake Police and the Iowa DHS located a substance believed to be marijuana at the home of 21-year-old Sierra Szaflarski. Charges of possession of marijuana 2nd offense and child endangerment have been filed in addition to a violation of her probation.
Szaflarski was booked into Dickinson County jail with no bond set.
Royal, IA (KICD)--A cash reward is being offered in connection to the vandalism of a bridge.
The Clay County Crime Stoppers Crime of the week took place sometime this past weekend as a bridge was spray painted in the 4300 block of 150th Avenue. A cash reward of $200 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
