Spencer, IA (KICD) -- The Spencer City Council met Monday evening.
The council saw the video "Spencer Betterment Retail Recruitment" presented by Bill Campbell. The council gave praise on the professionalism of the video.
A resolution authorizing permanent transfer of Funds from Landfill Improvement Reserve to Solid Wast Reserve, in the amount of $300,000 was approved.
The council approved the purchase of a replacement plow truck for the Street division, from Fox International at a cost of $148,885, and also approved a bond for the 2012 Seal Coat Project, at a cost of $61,200, to road Guy Construction.
the one topic that brought out concern was the resolution concerning the Spencer Reserve Peace Officer Force. Council member Ron Hanson expressed concern over the fact the salary rate for the part time officer didnt have a set limit
A confirmation of a bid for the West 3rd Sewer line replacement was approved from Valley Contracting of Estherville, for the amount of $22,554.25.
The council also approved Change order #2 to the 2012 West CDBG Storm Sewer Project. The amount approved was $16,678.20 for extra water main work on 3rd Avenue West, between 4th and 5th Street.
The council then went into closed session with the topic being the job performance of City Manager Bob Fagan.
