Storm Lake, IA (KICD) -- A Storm Lake man charged with making death threats towards a police officer is sentenced in Buena Vista County District Court.

48-year old James Thompson faced one class “D” felony count of terroristic threats, three counts of 1st degree harassment, and one count of 3rd degree harassment. Thompson pled guilty to one 1st degree harassment charge with the other charges dismissed.

Thompson was given a two year suspended sentence and placed on probation for two years, will pay a fine and court costs, and must submit a DNA sample. 

On July 3rd, only a few hours after being released from jail, Thompson was charged with two add counts of criminal trespassing and one count of impersonating a public official. He will be arraigned on those charges August 13th
