Accident & Arrests

Sioux Center, IA (KICD)--A Hawarden woman is hospitalized following a Monday evening accident two miles southwest of Sioux Center.

The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says 64-year-old Merry Landenberger was driving a 2011 Subaru Legacy westbound on 420th Street at 6:42 p.m.  18-year-old Tania Muro-Cardenas of Sioux Center was turning onto 420th from a private drive when both vehicles collided.

Landenberger was taken to Sioux Center Hospital by the Sioux Center ambulance for non-life
threatening injuries. She was later transferred to Mercy Medical Hospital in Sioux City.  Muro-Cardenas was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way When Entering a Through Highway.

Agencies assisting on scene include Sioux Center Fire and Police.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police are called to a disturbance Monday night.

Officers could allegedly hear yelling and arguing coming from inside of the apartment and proceeded to knock on the door and announce their presence.  The occupants would not open the door and Police forced their way inside.

46-year-old Veronica Anderson, and 46-year-old  Stevie Harrington were found in the apartment and were uncooperative.  They each displayed scrapes, a small laceration, and red areas on their bodies consistent with a physical altercation.

Police charged Harrington with Domestic Assault Causing Injury, Interference With Official Acts and Disorderly Conduct. He was booked into the county jail and held without bond.  Anderson was charged with Interference With Official Acts and Disorderly Conduct and held on a $600 cash bond.

Both sustained minor injuries during the altercation but declined medical attention.
