Spencer, IA (KICD)--A strong showing of support is exhibited at Thursday night's Spencer School Board meeting for the Curiel/Reynolds School of Visual Arts.

Nine individuals spoke in favor of the district allowing Tony Curiel to continue his operation following a fire at the school last month.  Steve Booth of Peterson has taken classes at the school and has also taught there.



Curiel did not have insurance on the building at the time of the June 14th blaze.



Tony Curiel spoke to the board about the situation.



Curiel says he would like to pay the building off in 12 months.



Superintendent Terry Hemann says the district in currently in a wait and see mode.



The fire led to heavy fire damage to two rooms on the east end of the structure with smoke damage throughout the building.
