Spencer, IA: (Jul 19, 2012) - About 400 people, mostly children, visited with farmers, 4-H youth and livestock producers at the Ag Experience event at the Clay County Fairgrounds on Thursday.
Joel Stave, with the Spencer Chamber Ag Committee, says it was all part of an effort to connect the community’s young people and local agriculture.
The Spencer Family YMCA brought groups of children to see the animals and to learn more about agriculture. Stave said the kids had some good questions.
It was the second year for Ag Experience. The Clay County Fair opened its newest building, the Livestock Pavilion, for the event.
