StateLine Coop Progress

Halfa, IA (KICD)--StateLine Coop continues to move forward on the construction of a new feed mill in Emmet County.

As previously reported on KICD News construction of the $9 million project will ramp up late this summer.  Feed Department Manager Cherilyn Krichau (Kree-Koe) tells KICD News why they decided to move forward with this project in Halfa.

The current facilities will be demolished aside from the North and South grain bins.

Upon completion, the mill will have the capacity to manufacture up to 400,000 tons of meal feed with the option of pelleting 200,000 tons of feed annually. The facility will be able to receive 20,000 bushels of corn per hour.

Kricheau shares the company's vision.

StateLine estimates construction will begin no later than August 1st with construction completed.

The Emmet County Board of Supervisors helped this project along by approving a 5-year declining abatement agreement.
