The crew was called to the un-mowed grass field fire on M-56 just north of 185th St. just before 11 a.m. this morning. The blaze was spreading to the north pushed by a steady breeze. Firefighters were on scene for an hour and twenty minutes.
Chief Jim Carpenter would like to remind everyone that much of our grassland is drier than it would normally be this time of year; and to be careful with any fires.
