Des Moines, IA (KICD)--Funding is allocated for a number of area airport improvement projects.
The Iowa Transportation Commission approved $5.6 million for the fiscal year 2013 State Aviation Program on Tuesday.
The Spencer Airport will receive $17,600 towards the $22,000 cost to replace the exterior sheeting on of of their hangars. The Storm Lake Airport is updating their fuel system at a cost of $145,600 and nearly $85,000 coming from the state. Over $119,000 is coming to the Sibley Airport for a $149,000 land acquisition. The Pocahontas Airport will receive $61,000 of the need $76,250 to rehab their taxi lanes. A $44,000 hangar door replacement at the Cherokee Airport will be aided by over $35,000 from the state. Over $23,000 is coming to the Estherville Airport to clean and seal pavement joints on runway 16/34. The total cost for that project is nearly $34,000.
