Spencer, IA: (Jul 05, 2012) - The Iowa Farm Service Agency (FSA) has announced that physical loss loans are available for producers in 32 Iowa counties.
In northwest Iowa, Dickinson & Emmet Counties have been designated as the primary damage area due to losses caused by hail, excessive rain and high winds on June 14th of this year. Producers in five contiguous counties, Clay, Kossuth, O’Brien, Osceola and Palo Alto, are also potentially eligible for low-interest emergency loans.
Lyon County was designated as a primary damage area due to high winds on May 27th. Three Iowa counties, O’Brien, Osceola and Sioux, are contiguous, making producers in those counties potentially eligible for assistance.
Physical loss loans may be made to eligible farmers to repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property, including livestock losses. Producers are encouraged to check with their county FSA office for details.
The final date for making application under the designation is March 4, 2013.
