50 Cent says bulletproof car saved his life

Rapper 50 Cent is adamant his bulletproof car saved his life in a terrifying road accident last month.

The "In Da Club" hitmaker, real name Curtis Jackson, was driving in Long Island, New York when his vehicle collided with a Mack truck on the highway.

He was taken to hospital on a stretcher and underwent a series of tests on his neck and back, but luckily escaped the smash with only minor injuries.

Now the star insists the accident could have been fatal if not for the reinforcement on his sport utility vehicle.

He tells MTV News, "(The truck driver) tried to brake, his load shifted and he lost control and he ran into the back of (my) truck.

"It did more damage to the Mack truck than it did to my truck, because I've got a level six - it's a bulletproof vehicle. It's the same standard as what they're moving Obama around in."

50 Cent also slammed speculation the crash was arranged to boost publicity ahead of his long-awaited album, adding, "Trust me, I have enough money to not hit myself with a Mack truck to try to get a few dollars. What's the thought process on this? It makes no sense to me."
