Spencer, IA: (Jul 03, 2012) - The message to corn growers at last week's Northwest Research Farm Field Day was "scout your corn fields for rootworm damage."
Iowa State University Field Agronomist Joel DeJong says now is the time to scout for feeding by corn rootworms.
DeJong says the best way to avoid rootworm damage in the future is to evaluate root damage in this year's corn fields, especially fields that will go back to corn next year.
Last week's field day was attended by more than a hundred area farmers.
