Spencer, IA (KICD) -- The Spencer School Board meets in regular session Tuesday night.

Superintendent Terry Hemann tells KICD News that the district is looking to reinstate the school resource officer position.



The board approved the Master Teacher contract for 2012-2013 year.



This will increase the base by $735 and also put $546 toward insurance.

Substitute teacher pay will remain the same for 2012-2013.  The rate will be $105 per day, and would increase to $136 per day if the substitute works for 5 or more consecutive days.

Heeman also shared some thoughts on the recent blaze at the Curiel/Reynolds School of Visual Arts. 



The board also approved the school handbooks for the next year, and awarded the bid for bread for the school lunches to Sara Lee, while the milk bid went to Joe's Dairy.
