Bob Seger is still hard at work on his next album. He says five songs are done and he is sifting through 70 others "in the can... Some of them aren't that old. Some of them are from the last album -- stuff that I really liked and I got talked out of and I'm really sorry I did. I could actually put (an album) out for this fall right now if I wanted to, but I'm just going to write a little more before I make a final decision."
Possible titles for the new album, which will be his first since Face the Promise in 2006, are Wonderland and Ride Out.
Seger plans to take a break from recording in November for a two-week tour of the West Coast, Australia or both.
In addition to his own album, he is also working on music for the trailer to Threshhold, a psycho-thriller film co-written by his son Cole.
Seger is being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame tonight (Thursday night). --Sal Cirrincione
