Curiel/Reynolds Blaze

Spencer, IA (KICD) -- Spencer Firefighters are called to the Curiel/Reynolds School of Visual Arts Thursday morning.

Spencer Fire Chief Doug Duncan tells KICD News they were dispatched shortly after 10:00 a.m.



The blaze had vented itself out windows on the east side of the building by the time firefighters arrived on scene.  Crews encountered high heat and heavy smoke but had the fire under control in about 5 minutes.



The building sustained heavy fire damage to two rooms on the east end of the structure with smoke damage throughout the building.  The State Fire Marshal and Spencer Fire & Rescue are listing the cause as undetermined.
