Spencer, IA (KICD)--Two are hospitalized following a speed induced accident Saturday afternoon.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Robert Hargrave of Spencer was traveling to fast for conditions in the 3100 mile of 330th Street shortly after 3:00 in a 1996 Buick Regal. Hargrave lost control and entered the south ditch where his car rolled before coming to a rest on its top.
Hargrave and a passenger were transported to the Spencer Hospital and treated for non-incapacitating injuries. Hargrave was cited for failure to maintain control and the passenger was cited for failure to wear/maintain safety belt.
Those assisting include the Iowa State Patrol, Dickens Fire and Rescue, and Spencer Hospital Paramedics.
Orleans, IA (KICD)--One person is injured following a motorcycle versus car mishap in Orleans Sunday morning.
Spirit Lake Police say shortly after 11:00 44-year-old Marlin Olson of Lakefield, Minnesota was heading south on 240th Avenue on a 2004 Harley Davidson Roadster. 19-year-old Tjaden Will of Fort Dodge was approaching in the northbound lane in a 1992 Buick Regal. As Will turned left both vehicles collided.
Olson was taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare by their ambulance unit for treatment of injuries. Will was cited for failure to yield to a left turning vehicle.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A report of a pair of disruptive patrons at Mo’s Bar ends up with a Storm Lake man in jail
Upon arrival of Storm Lake Police the two men had departed on foot. One of them, Earnest Harden III was found intoxicated and in possession of drug paraphernalia. Police arrested Harden and transported him to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for a pre-incarceration screening. At the medical center Harden became belligerent and loud and caused a disturbance in the emergency room.
Police transferred Harden to the Buena Vista County Jail where he was charged with Public Intoxication 3rd Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Disorderly Conduct. He was held on a $2,600 cash bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A pair of brothers are arrested in connection to a theft from the Storm Lake Wal-Mart Store.
Approximately $300 worth of electronic items was taken back on My 30th. Police officers who reviewed the security tapes recognized the suspect as 18-year-old Rolando Almendarez Jr. and the vehicle the he used to flee from the store.
After noticing the vehicle parked at Almendarez's home Police moved forward. 17-year-old David Almendarez told Police that his brother was not home. This turned out to be false as Roland was taken into custody .
After locating several of the stolen items Rolando Almendarez Jr. was charged with Theft 4th Degree. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
David Almendarez was charged with Theft 4th Degree and Interference With Official Acts. He was processed and released to a parent pending a court date in Juvenile Court.
Boyden, IA (KICD)--The Sioux County Sheriff's Office received a report of a fire at Farmers Co-op in Boyden early Saturday.
Sometime during the early morning hours, a small fire began in the feed mill portion under a storage tank
inside the feed mill. The fire appears to be due to an electrical problem on a radiant heater and pump.
No injuries were reported. The storage tank sustained approximately $2,500 in damages.
