Doon, IA (KICD)--A Boyden woman is taken to the hospital following a semi versus car mishap Tuesday.
The Lyon County Sheriff says 39-year-old Paul Techetter of Ethan, SD was driving a 2005 Peterbuilt semi truck north on 75 just before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. At this time 53-year-old Karen Ver Meer was driving a 2008 Chevy Impala west bound on county road A-52. Karen stopped at the stop sign located at the intersection of 75 and A-52 and then proceeded to try and cross the road. Due to the hillcrest she did not see Techetter until he came over the hill. Paul tried to stop and took evasive action in an attempt to get around Ver Meer, but could not and struck the back driver side of Karen's vehicle. Ver Meer's vehicle spun around numerous times and entered the northwest ditch. Her vehicle went through a fence before coming to a stop in the corn field.
Ver Meer was transported to the hospital for non life threatening injuries.
