Spencer, IA (KICD)--The city of Spencer accepts the 2nd bid for the Green Industrial Center Paving Project.

Last month a low bid from Godberson-Smith Construction of over $416,000 was initially accepted.  City Manager Bob Fagen tells KICD News that because the city is receiving RISE funding to pay for a portion of the project, there are some requirements that must be met to satisfy the state.



A special session was held to approve awarding the project to Vaughn-DeLoss Construction of Spencer at a cost of over $420,000.



Pioneer Hi-Bred is hoping to be operational by mid-October.
