Lady Antebellum enlists Hot Chelle Rae for CMT Awards

Country stars Lady Antebellum are set to thrill fans at the CMT Awards on Wednesday by teaming up with Hot Chelle Rae.

The "Need You Now" trio has recruited the pop-rock group to join them onstage for a surprise performance at the country prizegiving, which will air live from Nashville.

Hot Chelle Rae guitarist Nash Overstreet hinted about the project in a Yahoo! interview, but stopped short of revealing exactly what the special collaboration would entail.

He says, "We're going to be joining some of our friends, Lady Antebellum, which we're really excited about. They had this little idea they came up with that involves us and we can't say what exactly that is, so you're going to have to wait and find out... Who knows what's going to happen?"

Singer Ryan Follese admits the two groups go way back, adding, "I actually met Hillary (Scott) when she moved to town to be a solo artist and I was doing solo stuff at the same time. We've been listening to each other's music without even knowing what was going to happen for years and years. So this is really full circle for us... We can't give away the big reveal but it's going to be exciting and I think everyone's going to freak out."
