Spencer, IA (KICD)--A lighting round Spencer City Council meeting was held Monday night.

Spencer City Manager Bob Fagen tells KICD News about the purchase of a packer truck for the solid waste division at cost of $142,668.



The council also approved the purchase of a screening bucket which is funded by a $20,000 SWAP Quick Start grant and $35,700 from the Landfill Waste Reduction Fees account.



An application for a Hazard Mitigation Grant for the West Central Sewer Retrofit Project will move forward.



The council also updated the city's purchasing policy to keep up with the state of Iowa rules.
