Spencer, IA: (Jan. 30, 2012) - The wind energy industry continues to grow in Northwest Iowa. Last week KICD News reported that O’Brien County has been chosen as the site for a windward converter station.
The Rock Island Clean Line project will ultimately provide enough wind energy to power 1.4 million homes.
Iowa Wind Energy Association Executive Director Harold Prior says additional wind farms will be created in conjunction with the project.
Prior says the project has an expected completion date of 2016.
