Underground Crude Oil Pipeline Proposed

Undated (KICD)– As first reported last week on KICD News a Texas company wants to run an underground pipeline through Iowa that would carry crude oil from North Dakota’s Bakken oil fields to Illinois.

Energy Transfer Partners Spokesperson Vickie Granado says their proposed route would basically cut diagonally through Iowa from Lyon County to Lee County that would carry at least 320,000 barrels a day in a 30-inch diameter pipe.

Granado says while they would like to have the pipeline operational by the end of 2016, they are still in the early stages of a long process.

If approved, Energy Transfer Partners would look to hire help and purchase supplies and equipment from communities alng and near the proposed pipeline.
