Windom, MN (KICD) — A Spencer man was injured after driving his truck into a building, after the brakes failed.
Around 11 Sunday night, Windom Police received a call of a crash at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store.  Upon arrival, it was determined 53-year old James Cook and a passenger were heading south on Highway 71, when the brakes failed in his truck.  Cook then drove off Highway 71, through the Highway 60 intersection, then crashing into the store building.
The collision created a hole through the building wall.  Cook, complained of soreness and was transported to the WIndom Area Hospital.  The passenger had a swollen nose, but refused medical treatment.  The dollar amount of the building damage is unknown, and the pickup was totalled in the accident, which remains under investigation.
