Undated (KICD)–Heavy rainfall and high winds hit on Sunday with a tornado reported to east end of the listening area.

A tornado was first spotted a mile west northwest of Buffalo Center at 12:44 p.m. with another spotted in Kossuth County, four miles west of Wesley at 1:28 p.m.  The National Weather Service says tornadoes were also reported in Worth and Cerro Gordo counties yesterday afternoon.

Cylinder received over six inches of rain on the day while Cherokee had 4.08 inches with reports of area creeks and streams out of their banks and over the roadway.  4.88 inches was reported two miles south of Linn Grove. A high wind gust of 70 miles per hour was recorded near Sioux Center.  One inch hail was reported in Le Mars.

Spencer received 1.52 inches of rain on the day.
