Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Sioux Rapids woman was injured in 2 vehicle accident.

The Buena Vista County Sheriffs Office said the accident occurred Monday afternoon, southwest of Storm Lake, as 34-year old Amber Hussey was southbound on Highway 110, when she was stopped by a construction flagman. As she was stopped, her car was rear-ended by a car driven by 36-year old Juan Najera-Fuentes of Schaller.

Hussey was transported to Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance, with non-incapacitating injuries. Najera-Fuentes was not injured, but was cited for Failure To Stop In An Assured Distance and No Insurance. Hussey’s car received approximately $10,000 in damages, while Najera-Fuentes vehicle received an estimated $5000. Both vehicles were considered totalled.
