Spencer, IA (KICD)–Law Enforcement will be on high alert this weekend for traffic violations for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday weekend.

Spencer Police Chief Mark Lawson says some use St. Patrick’s Day as an excuse to have a better time what they normally would.

An emphasis on watching your speed and slowing down is being highlighted .

Some other items law enforcement will be on the lookout for include distracted driving, seat belt compliance, and proper child restraint.
