Spencer School Board Recap

Spencer School Board Recap

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A $20,000 check was presented to the Spencer Community Schools Foundation at last night’s school board meeting.

Superintendent Terry Hemann tells KICD News that this money is coming from Monsanto.

The board also went over top Iowa Association of School Boards priorities and held a work session on Characteristics of Effective School Boards.

The demolition of the Reynolds Elementary building hit a snag due to an overlooked form not being submitted to the Iowa DNR. Many historical items from the building have been salvaged.

It was noted that over 90 students have already enrolled through the new early registration at the Central Offices.
