Spencer School Board Recap

Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer School Board met Tuesday night.

Board President Bob Whittenburg tells KICD News the budget outlook for the current and upcoming fiscal years is favorable.

A tax levy rate of $14.51 per $1,000 of taxable valuation was approved for the upcoming year.

The board looked over upgraded drawings for a pair of building projects and will now solicit bids.

The board also approved hiring a District Technology Integration Specialist. This individual would help to sustain the school’s use of technology for improved instruction, communication, and student achievement.

The position will be funded by the Teacher Leadership Compensation system when the district enters the TLC system.

Superintendent Terry Heeman was not at the meeting due to illness.
