Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer City Council will meet in regular session this evening.
Following last week’s Committee of the Whole meeting there is a motion on the agenda to approve the submission of a State Revolving Fund Planning & Design Loan Application for Improvements and Rehabilitation of the Waste Treatment Plant and Sewer Separation along 4th Avenue West and Submission of a Clean Water State Revolving Fund Intended Use Plan Application.
The Planning and Design loan, if approved by SRF, would allow the City to borrow money at a 0 percent interest for 3 years. The second application to the SRF would be for permanent funding for both the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the 4th Ave. Combined Sewer Separation Project at a cost of over $5.86 million. If funded the loan would be for 20 years at 2 percent.
The purchase of a new fire truck is up for approval. This has been budgeted for and will come at a cost of over $374,000 from Danko Emergency Equipment. This purchase will replace the 1987 pumper truck.
Action on the contract for the construction of the 2014 Fairway Woods 1st Addition PCC Paving Project is also on the docket.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 in the Council Chambers of Spencer City Hall.
