Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer City Council will meet tonight in regular session.
A motion to approve a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Spencer and Spencer Employees Association will be taken up. The 3-year-pact calls for an annual cost of living increase of 2 percent in year one, 2.5 percent in year two, and 2.75 percent in year three.
Season’s Center Executive Director Kim Scorza will open the evening with a presentation.
That will be followed with a presentation of the fiscal year 2012-2013 city audit by Winther, Stave & Company. The audit will show that the City continues to be in a strong financial condition.
Bids will be presented for the 2014 Parking Lot Improvement Project and the 2014 Fairway Woods First Addition PCC Paving Project. Those bids will be received prior to tonight’s meeting.
A three year extension of the Safe Routes to School Program which runs through 2018 is on the docket. The city and Spencer Community School District each will provide $30,000 per year.
A joint proposal from Moulder and Associates and Cayler Consulting LLC to assist with the selection of a new Police Chief is also likely to receive approval tonight.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 in the Council Chambers of Spencer City Hall.
