Spencer Council Preview

Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Spencer City Council meets this evening in regular session.

Adoption of a 25 year gas franchise to Black Hills Energy is on the docket. The current gas franchise with Black Hills Energy will expire in August.

The purchase of two Police Patrol Vehicles included in the CIP plan is on the agenda. The city is looking at a 2014 Ford 150 Supercrew 4 x 4 from Don Pierson Ford for $31,339 and a 2015 Ford Interceptor Sedan All Wheel Drive for $25,536 from Don Pierson Ford.

The School Resource Officer will be back in the schools next year. A motion for the city’s share of $10,000 is up for a vote tonight.

The evening will close with an economic development update from City Manager Bob Fagen.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 in the council chambers of Spencer City Hall.
