Spencer, IA (KICD)—Spencer Municipal Utilities residential electric rates were up a bit this year due to the coldest winter in decades.

SMU Marketing & Communications Director Amanda Gloyd tells KICD News that over 1.3 million more kilowatt hours were on the books this February than last year.
