Sheldon, IA (KICD) — A two vehicle accident results in possible injuries to one.
  Sheldon Police were called to the accident around 8:10 (this) Wednesday morning, at the intersection of Old Highway 60 and 7th Street, in Sheldon.  The accident occurred near Arnold Motor Supply and R & J’s New and Used.
17-year old Haley Gurtley of Sheldon, was northbound in a 2001 Nissan Altima, on 2nd Avenue.when she was struck by an eastbound 1998 Chevy Blazer, driven by 91-year old Howard Lucas of Sheldon.  A witness to the accident said Lucas failed to stop at the stop sign, continuing into the intersection striking the Nissan.
  Gurtler was extricated from the Nissan, and was transported to Sheldon Hospital by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team. for possible injuries.  Lucas was not injured in the accident.  Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1500.  Lucas was cited for Failure To Obey a Stop Sign.
  Assisting at the scene was the O’Brien County Sheriffs Office and Sheldon Fire Company and Sheldon EMS.
