Spencer, IA (KICD) — With the school year starting, a reminder for drivers to watch for school busses stopping.

Iowa State Patrolman Vince Kurtz tells KICD News that there are a lot of bus stop sign violations yearly, and gives reasons he’s figured to be behind them…

Kurtz says that out on the highways, violations occur quite often, as well…

He says parents need to explain to kids to make sure they check both ways for traffic, to make sure any vehicles are stopped, and to pay attention to the bus driver, for when they say it’s clear to go to or from the bus.
