Orange City, IA (KICD)–A Rock Valley man will spend five years on probation after pleading guilty to charges of 3rd Degree Sex Abuse and Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor.

The case arose in June of 2013 when a Hawarden police officer observed two people under the age of 18 walking down the street well past curfew. The male was identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Hankelaus and the female was a 15-year-old. The mother of the girl reported that she had trouble with Hankelaus over the past year and she found an obscene text message on her daughter s phone.
