Spencer, IA (KICD)–We are currently in the midst of Problem Gambling Awareness week.
Prevention Supervisor Mary Sloan with Compass Pointe tells KICD News that the sooner one starts gambling, the more propensity they have to develop a problem.
Sloan says they treat gambling addiction just as they do alochol and drugs, where the urge to take in more of the addiction starts to take over the mind.
Sloan has an issue with the idea of “responsible” gambling.
If you or someone you know may have a gambling problem get in contact with Compass Pointe or you can call 1-800-Bets-Off.
