Power Outage in Palo Alto and Pocahontas Counties

Laurens, IA (KICD)–Roughly 1,300 in Palo Alto and Pocahontas Counties lost power early Sunday evening.

Alliant Energy Spokesperson Justin Foss tells KICD News that they received word of a singular transmission line being down around 6:00 p.m.

Foss says the downed line was in the Laurens area.

Foss says power outages will happen at times, and while he doesn’t expect this cold weather snap to lead to many outages, another more common concern is carbon monoxide.

All customers had power restored just after 9:00 p.m.
