Primghar, IA (KICD)–A Cherokee woman was taken to the hospital after falling asleep at the wheel.

The Iowa State Patrol says 18-year-old Brianna Nixon lost control after falling asleep at 7:10 Thursday morning on O’Brien County Road M-13. Her car hit the right shoulder at which time Nixon swerved back onto the roadway and then into the east ditch where she rolled one and a half times. The car came to a rest on its roof in a soybean field.

Nixon was taken to the Cherokee Hospital after complaining of possible pain.
