North Y Accident Details Released

Spencer, IA (KICD)–Details from a late Thursday morning accident at the North Y in Spencer have been released.

The Iowa State Patrol says 35-year-old Matthew Flattery of Urbandale failed to stop at the stop sign while heading west on Highway 18 at approximately 11:00. His pickup was then struck by another pickup heading south on Highway 71 which was driven by 34-year-old Matthew Lauritsen of Estherville.

Lauritsen suffered possible injuries and was taken to Spencer Hospital. 1-year-old Walker Flattery sustained non-incapacitating injuries.

Flattery was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
