New Development In Jackson

Jackson, MN (KICD)–The Jackson Economic Development Corporation has completed several components that will lead to a new retail/commercial development area in Jackson.

Economic Development Coordinator Sue Pirsig tells KICD News the Developer Jeff Greischar has been working for over a year on a plan to develop the new Jackson Crossing.

The land purchased includes about eight acres at the corner of County Road 38 and Highway 71.  Greischar plans to build a 5,000 sq. ft. retail/commercial business at the site.

Pirsig says the goal is to create a new retail/commercial-corridor along Highway 71.

Several agreements that complete this development package were approved by the City of Jackson Tuesday night including a land exchange agreement and development agreement.

The City will install the infrastructure for Jackson Crossing and the DP4 area. The City has also agreed to assist in the creation of Economic Development Tax Increment Financing Districts for the purpose of promoting the development.

A loan of $300,000 from the revolving loan fund was approved for JEDC to assist in the purchase of the Greischar property.
