Motel Fire Cause & Origin Determined

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–The cause of an early Tuesday morning fire at the Vista Economy Inn in Storm Lake has been deemed accidental due to the extreme amount of damage and the exact cause of the fire is undetermined.

A joint investigation by the Storm Lake Fire Department and the Iowa State Fire Marshal s Office determined the origin of the fire was the attic space above the office area of the motel.

The motel sustained at least $200,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
