Spencer, IA: (Feb. 19, 2014) – A Clay County farmer received a check, courtesy of the Monsanto Company, at yesterday’s Northwest Iowa Ag Outlook program.

The Monsanto Fund, the philanthropic arm of Monsanto, presented Paul Kassel with a check for $2500 as part of the company’s America’s Farmers Grow Communities program. Kassel, in turn, presented the check to the Clay County 4-H.

Kassel says he was happy to be selected to help a local non-profit like 4-H. He says he wants the funds used to support a popular youth activity at the Clay County Fair.

Monsanto representative Jim McDermott explains the America’s Farmers program.
