Joni Ernst Visits Area

Spencer, IA (KICD)–State Senator and U.S. Senate candidate Joni Ernst made a number of stops in the KICD Listening area on Tuesday.

The Red Oak Republican was elected Montgomery County Auditor in 2004 and was the winner of a special election to fill the State Senate seat vacated in 2011 when Kim Reynolds left to become Lt. Governor.

Ernst believes the fact that she is the only current elected official running for the Republican nomination and her record in office makes for stand out from the pack.

Ernst has also received national attention for her campaign ads.

Others on the June 3rd Primary ballot include Sam Clovis, Mark Jacobs, Matt Whitaker, and Scott Schaben.  Bruce Braley is the lone Democrat running for the Senate seat which is being vacated by the retiring Tom Harkin.
