Jackson Accident


Jackson, MN (KICD) — Two people were injured in a single vehicle accident.

Around 2-am Wednesday, the Jackson County Sheriffs Office and Jackson Fire and Ambulance responded to an accident, at the intersection of Petersburg Road and 740th Street, south of Jackson. Upon arrival, it was determined 53-year old Anthony Olson of Wapello was westbound on 740th Street and failed to turn at the T intersection, then crossing Petersburg Road and coming to rest in a pasture, after striking a tree.

.Olson had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the Sanford Jackson Medical Center, before being transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. A passenger, 47 year-old Mark Schlager of Marshall, was treated and released at the Sanford Jackson Medical Center.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department says alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, and charges are pending.
