Iowa Drought Conditions Alleviated

Spencer, IA: (Jul 30, 2014) – Most of northwest Iowa was very dry at the end of last year and drought was a big concern.

Tim Hall keeps track of the groundwater numbers for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. He says the water situation has really turned around in just the last few months.

Following a very wet June, Hall says the month of July has been cooler than normal. He says that combination has played a big role in the state’s water situation.

Hall says the drought conditions that plagued the state last fall have pretty much disappeared.
