HyVee Money Theft

Algona, IA (KICD) — The Algona Hy-Vee store has over $10,000 stolen.

The Algona Police Department is investigating the theft of the money, which was believed to have occurred early July 7th. Assistant Police Chief Kendall Pals says after an investigation, officers believe it was taken by a store employee, because the money was in a secured location. Pals reports they have identified a suspect and hope to file charges and make an arrest soon.

With the assistance of the Sioux Falls Police Department authorities have already recovered a majority of the money in Sioux Falls. Officers located the suspect there and found the stolen cash. The suspect has been charged with a Class C felony charge of 1st Degree Theft.
